Katowice
The complex of buildings of the Silesian Museum, situated in the former Katowice coal mine, along with other institutions which are being built here will create the so-called Cultural District - the new centre of cultural life for the city. The coal mine "Katowice" operated from the third decade of the nineteenth century until the end of the last century. In total, about 120 million tons of coal were mined. Characteristic old buildings have remained of the mine, many of whom were built as early as the nineteenth century, and each individual building was given the features inspired by the Romanesque and Gothic styles.

Czeladź
The Gallery "Elektrownia" (“Power Station”) is housed in the old building of the largest and most modern industrial plant the town city - the coal mine "Saturn". The building was built of brick, in the style characteristic of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. It was designed by outstanding Polish architect, Joseph Pius Dziekoński. Inside the building, there are art exhibitions, an original turbine, a control panel and a powerful flywheel.

Katowice
The Museum of the History of Katowice was founded in 1983 as a continuation of the Social Museum of the History of Katowice and a branch of the Upper Silesian Museum. Currently, the museum is housed in an Art Nouveau building located in the city center street, at the Księdza Szafranka Street. The museum invites you to see two permanent exhibitions: one is devoted to the history of Katowice; the other presents recreated house interiors of the middle and upper classes. The Museum holds a collection of pastels by Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz - Witkacy.

Bytom
“Kronika” ("Chronicle"), which is part of the Bytom Cultural Center, was established in 1991. The activities of this institution are beyond an ordinary gallery itself. It combines various fields of art - painting, printmaking, architecture, film, theater, music - into one artistic message. In 2006, the institution underwent reorganization. The center was also renovated. Moreover, the gallery goes beyond art. It runs a bike rental shop.

Bytom
Lovers of old cars should seek out in Bytom the following address: 98 Strzelców Bytomskich Street. In the building of the voivodeship training centre for drivers one can find the Museum of Motorization and Technology, in which there are three exhibition pavillons presenting old cars, wheelers as well as military vehicles. They come from a few Silesian institutions and private collections. The oldest vehicle is a Buick from 1928.

"The largest private art gallery in Poland is situated in Janów, a district east of the city center of Katowice. It is located in the pithead building and the bathroom at the shaft ""Wilson"" in the Coal Mine ""Wieczorek"". The gallery boasts of an exhibition area of nearly 2500 square meters! Monica Paca and Johannes opened the gallery, by inviting a group of artists, musicians, actors and other artists, and lovers of contemporary art. The gallery is located on the Industrial Monuments Route of the Silesian voivodeship. "

Centrum Dokumentacji Deportacji Górnoślązaków do ZSRR w 1945 roku mieści się w budynku byłego dworca kolejowego w Radzionkowie. Placówka pełni różne funkcje w obszarze edukacji, kultury, historii, a także zachowywania dziedzictwa kulturowego. Stała ekspozycja przybliża historię deportacji i uświadamia zwiedzającym, że 1945 rok – czas końca wojny i wyzwolenia, dla wielu śląskich rodzin był początkiem gehenny związanej z masową wywózką na wschód. Wielu Górnoślązaków pozostało na radzieckiej ziemi na zawsze. Wystawa w interesujący sposób łączy ślady przeszłości w postaci eksponatów z nowoczesnymi rozwiązaniami multimedialnymi.

Świętochłowice
The Silesian Uprisings' Museum is located in the building of the former Police Headquarters at 1, Wiktora Polaka Street in Świętochłowice. In the revitalized object designed by the Zillmann brothers the visitors are invited to find the permanent exhibition of modern and multimedia character. The exhibition is arranged on four floors: from the ground floor where one can see the „Świętochłowice A. D. 1919” room with an interior inspired by the main street from the period of uprisings, to an entresol - a perfect place to admire the staff special session.

Patronem oddziału jest wybitny grafik Paweł Steller, mieszkający i tworzący w Katowicach przez niemal 50 lat. Krytycy zachodni nazywali go "polskim Dürerem", a polscy krytycy "śląskim Skoczylasem".
