FC Ruch Chorzów is the most successful Polish association football club in Silesia. The club was founded on April 20, 1920 in Bismarckhütte, which is nowadays Chorzów Batory, a district of the city. The stadium on which the “Blues” play matches was built between 1934 and 1935, when Bismarckhütte was named Hajduki Wielkie. After the construction, the stadium was considered the most modern in Poland. A unique object is a pre-war Omega match clock.
